The 2013 New York International Auto Show is now a week away, and Jaguar we’ll be contravention out its presentation line for Gotham’s show. The 2014 Jaguar XJR sedan will make its global entrance in New York and will be flank by the all-new F-Type as well as the XJ and XF all-wheel drive sedans. Jaguar will use the New York show as a bounce board to show off their extended R lineups, which now comprise the 2014 XJR sedan.
Jag’s flagship sedan gets an added dribble when it wears the “R” badge and will be powered by the recognizable 5.0-liter V-8 engine also seen in the XFR-S that debuted in Los Angeles last year. This mill is velocity at 550 horsepower, making the XJR the fastest variant of Jaguar’s flagship.
Previously, Jaguar said the XKR-S was the greatest vehicle in its stable with 550 hp and 502 pound-feet of torque, that concluding number you can expect from the XJR, as well. Unlike the XKR-S though, the XJR doesn’t emerge to feature any different styling cues to let you recognize its part of Jaguar’s presentation lineup. All of these missing external styling traits may show up inside the 2014 Jaguar XJR though, as the British automaker has oblique at.
The accumulation of the 2014 Jaguar XJR sedan is an example of parent company Tata Motors’ endeavor to cater to a wider audience. Offering additional performance-oriented models, engines with slighter displacements, and all-wheel drive alternative appears to be Jaguar’s game plan to win more customers.
Next week, the 2014 Jaguar XJR will make its inclusive unveiling at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. We’ll be on the show floor so continue tuned for more particulars on the extended R lineup and innumerable other automotive news bits.
